The Polish Mathematical Society ((ポーランド語:Polskie Towarzystwo Matematyczne)) began in Kraków, Poland in 1917. It was originally simply called the Mathematical Society. It was officially constituted on April 2, 1919. Hugo Steinhaus, Stefan Banach and Otto Nikodym were among the founders. Ever since its foundation, the Society's main activity was to bring mathematicians together by means of organizing conferences and lectures.
